Being from Jersey, I am very skeptical of Italian food in California. (I spend half my year one coast and half another.) I was pretty impressed with Ciao. The atmosphere is slightly upscale but not so much you have to wear your heels. The bread was warm and soft, perfect to dip in sauce. I ordered the capellini, mother ordered the stuffed shells. My dish was HUGE! Mom's was also a good size, less but just enough (she still had half to take home.) The tiramisu was absolutely phenomenal. More cake like. All of it is very fair priced. My espresso martini was the perfect cap to a delicious dinner. I wish I had caught the bartenders name because he was fantastic. (We visited the night of 9/1/24 if that helps pass the compliment along to management.) He knew his stuff, was fun to talk to, and didn't rush us out after being there a couple hours. The Italian goods are the same as back home in Jersey. A great selection you should peruse if you enjoy cooking. All in all we will definitely be back.
I came here on a Saturday with my bud and I have to say it was a pleasant experience visiting for the first time. We decided to go eat outside since it was nice outside. Inside of the restaurant was pretty festive. There was a dinning area, and an isle to buy pasta, sauces, wine, and chocolates to take back. Across from that was a dessert bar for authentic Italian gelatos, tiramisu, cookies, and cheesecakes. I ordered the pasta pomdoro tomato dish with added grilled chicken. And for an appetizer, I've ordered a pear salad with the feta cheese to the side. There was complimentary bread was which hot and good. The service was pretty good throughout. The waiter was nice, knowledgeable, and patient. And the lady was working the dessert bar was also nice. She let me try out three gelato samples with no problem. Overall, it was a nice first experience and I wouldn't mind going back.
overall great italian food! the service is authentic as well as the food and it overs a little trip to italy close to home. The prices are on the higher side but the food is always delicious and the potions are more than you could ask for. There's a bar side as well as a deli/bakery area for fresh food and pastries. Will come back and love the bread they bring when you're seated. it's always hot and ready. parking wise there's a huge amount with a secret extra parking in the back!
Came for late lunch and everything was super tasty. Chicken parm ..big enough for lunch the next day . Gnocchi was yummy especially with the sauce. Ordered side sausage..have to come back for that sausage and pepper sandwich. Service was great and that market looks great for to go items . Great time thank you .
Great old school Italian restaurant atmosphere. Traditional menu with pasta and pizza. Ordered lobster ravioli and fettuccine Alfredo. Both were excellent. Plenty to take home. The insalata di pere was delicious, the vinaigrette was so good. Had tiramisu and lemon dome cake. Would recommend the tiramisu! Service was prompt and friendly. Only negative thing is the chairs are metal so my butt hurt after a bit.
What a great experience! I've heard about your food and it was delicious! The shrimp scampi was cooked to perfection! The best part of our evening was Michelle! She made it a perfect evening with her recommendations and her awesome service. You can tell she takes pride in her job! Thank you for having such fresh food and employing great people! I'll be back soon!
What a little piece of Italy nestled in the back of Vista,Ca. Ciao! Met here today for a small birthday lunch. Arrived early so there were not many patrons yet. Looking around you take in the ambiance. I felt like I was in a restaurant in Italy. A big bar, wine bottles on display here and there. I saw a small deli offering meats and cheeses as well as other dry foods that looked imported for purchase. We ordered quite a few items off the menu. For starters we had the Bruschetta Pomodoro, Zucchini Fritti, and the Calamari Fritti. Everything was very tasty, especially the Zucchini. For our main entrees we ordered 2 Meat Napolitano-Style Woodfired Pizza's, 2 Beef Lasagnas, Eggplant Parmiggiana, Hot) Chicken & Ranch Panuozzo,Meatball Panuozzo,. Rigatoni Bosciaoli and a Caesar Salad. Everything came out piping hot with a nice presence. Portions were huge and you notice everything tastes fresh, all the ingredients all the way through. Some of the things that stuck out to me was the dough of the wood fired pizzas and the sausage on them. The chicken and ranch sandwich with pepperoncini which spiced it up and then the bacon kicks in on taste. The layers of lasagna were oh so good. They also gave us complementary deserts for the birthday guests. 5 stars and highly recommend.
This is a repeat visit, and we brought a friend. We were seated immediately. And we ordered our drinks and food. Very comfortable place for a weekend. Less crowded than usual. Their bread is wonderful as usual. Their menu is fantastic. Pro tip: hubby was craving meatball spaghetti, which is very basic, but they WILL allow customisations!!!!! Yay!! If they split it for you, there is an additional 3 usd charge Also, we got them to split the spaghetti to two so we could get dessert. I live for perusing their dessert display. Everytime we go, there are different desserts on display. This time, we chose mango coconut cake. It was delish!!!! We will be back again
The hospitality was great! The food portions are large! The ambiance is beautiful. Great for dates, family birthday celebrations, any celebration really for large or small groups. They have free parking which is great. They have a bakery section and cheese section and nice LARGE bar section. Reasonably priced food We got two large dishes, pizza, drinks, coffee, desserts all for under 100$ We left with Togo boxes lol Highly recommend this place Super clean restrooms Friendly Food is good and hot Drinks Free parking Over all experience 10/10
